air filter oil alternative
I am wondering if anyone knows of a good air filter oil alternative ?
I own 4 rc monster trucks & buggies and go through a lot it.
Is there anything besides Marvels Mystery Oil that is just as good as the real stuff?

This is the third thred this week I've seen on AFO.
I wouldn't use MMO or A/T oil for air filters.
AFO is tacky, not slippery.
Do what Damo_MadTruck says.
Less than $20 for a lifetime supply.
MMO does make a great after run oil.

The fact is any oil will work. Some better than others but in a pinch any oil will do. Lawn equipment, which work hard in some of the dustiest of environments, use motor oil on their filters.
Having said that bulk air filter oils for 1:1 motorcycles work great. I've also used chainsaw bar oil, very few oils are stickier than that stuff.

Bar oil is a good idea. THX.
I have a quart of that lying around, I might test it just to see.
And I agree, if you can't get anything else, any oil would work in a pinch.
I would stick to AFO if it's available.
I'm sure there's a reason they make it.

The air filter oil i use for motorbikes is crazy sticky!! One important tip is to not get any of that stuff on your hands because it really hard to get off especially if it gets in between your fingers. I learned the hard way, when i used it for the first time on my motorbikes air filter i didnt use gloves and i was all over both of my hands and spent about an hour getting it off[:'(]

LOL.
No, I mean the product in general.
Regardless of how it's packaged.
And like I said go for the MX/ATV large container that is a much better value.
Here's some Husky AF oil for dirt cheap. $5.50/qt that's about what .35 cents an ounce? (I suck at math)

RE: air filter oil alternative
Oil being too sticky is not a good thing. I use the Dynamite air filter oil sold at horizonhobby.com as the Dynamite oil is used on the Losi preoiled filters I buy, the oil is not too thin, not too thick. Traxxas oil is kind of thin and I hate the red color, and Associated oil is WAY too thick.
