Default Test of a really nicely modded engine and pipe

This setup is LOUD. You'd have to set your volume up real high to hear what it sounds like standing next to it. I'd have filmed some run time with the car but the steering system is being really weird and it wouldn't be wise to run it until I get it sorted out. Probably just need to use a higher quality radio. Right now I'm just using some crappy HPI AM system I found in the workshop, I might head to the LHS later to get another Spektrum RX to use my DX3r. Tires are also totally crap right now, they're very old and hard - I ordered a really nice premounted set of extra soft Icaro tires for it.

I don't actually know what work has been done on the engine other than what I can see from the outside, but it's definitely not a stock Zenoah. The pipe is the FG Big Power Pipe, one of the better ones you can get for the on-roads. I do need to seal the joint between the first and second chambers better though.

Anyway, by the time the tires come I should also have the radio system functioning properly and I'll post some videos of it running.

First up is a video of the engine running - play with sound.

Next are a few shots of the car itself, which some of you may have seen before - I just never got around to getting it started until today.

Yeah, I really want to see what this car is capable of. This week I'll buy another Spektrum RX, tires should arrive soon too.

Yeah the shell is awesome, I'll probably run with something else just in case - I want to keep the BMW one nice and pretty

It's a 1/5 scale Sportsline by FG Modelsport, a German manufacturer.

The engine is a modified Zenoah G26 - which is in it's stock form is widely used in the large scale car/truck market. Traxxas no longer makes their 1/5 vehicle, which was called the Monster Buggy.

The current major manufacturers are HPI, FG, MCD, Nutech, HARM, Contrast, RS5, Hormann, among others.
