Default new to RC nitro cars

hi,im new to RC Nitro Cars,i was too anxious to try it so i filled the tank and drove it straight away.told myself not to go full speed but did anyway, had a lot of fun then the car would over heat and stop.Iknow im suppose to break it in,i drove it twice for roughly 10 minutes each time.im now doin the break in,starting it and waiting for 2mins and stoppping it,sometimes it stops, mainly when its very hot.im now doing it by 2mins,and stopping it,letting it cool and doing it again.ive only had 1 1/2 tanks go through the engine.Have i ruined my engine? or is it still ok? i need some advise.i also smashed it into the fence and broke the front bumper off,and the left rear wheel`s plastic stick that holds it on is broken.what do i do????

What fuel you useing, what % ?
And try richening it as much as it will let you, might run cooler.
Just do quarter throdle runs, do it on a breezy day with the body off.
Being rich as it might just be stalling from flooding.
Do a spit test when its running, bit a spit of finger dab it on cyclinder head if it hisses off real fast , its to hot, if it just bubbles away slowly its a good temp. Its alot of the time more accurate than a temp gun.

You shouldn't have run it like that without breaking it in first, but you probably didn't do any significant damage. Look at your manual and make sure you have the needles set to the break-in settings. Start it up and drive it around on a flat surface, vary throttle, and run it for about 3 minutes at a time. If it bogs too much it's probably too rich, so lean it up (turn needle in. Let it cool with piston at bottom dead center in between runs. Look up "heat cycle method" on this forum and try to follow that the best you can.

That sounds like me and my first RC. I tore it up really fast, and learned a lot about it from fixing it all the time. Enjoy the learning process, it's half of what makes this hobby fun.

What car is it?

You certantly didn't do any good to the engine by going full throttle the first tank. That is going to decrease the life and performance by gallons just because you didn't break it in properly.

Oh man that is a no no to go all out with out breaking the engine in first. But hey that is part of learning. I agree with everyone else. Go back to factory settings and follow the break in procedure. You should be ok.

The car seems to be going ok after i made richer,it started to splutter after 3mins of running,so i turned it off and letting it cool.Is it ok that im running 20% for the break-in?or should i be running 15%?

ive heard of racers putting a brand new engine in and racing with it. you prob didnt do to much damage to it depending on how hot it was. you can get a cheap temp gun for about 30 bucks. i know it helped me out when first getting into nitro. as far as the nitro percent it dosnt really matter pick one and stick with it. if you go to a diffrent nitro content you hav to change your neddle settings.

Stay with 20% its easier to tune with.
20% is a great medium, and you will find most run on 20 or 25 % .15% will likely run hotter.30% is really good to tune and is wikid power and l find runs cooler, l live in tropics, today was 32 deg celcius .

It'll splutter if its rich, might not be hot, it'll rev faster if its hot, likely the clutch at idlewill grab when its hot too because of the higher reving..
