RE: SAVAGE custom builds/mods
Try doing a search for "mod" in the forum. Or just try going through, there are lots of mods and pics of mods. This is especially true in the What have you done to your Savage today thread, i.e. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8585356/tm.htm

^ He said *custom* ....................... As for that, I have none unless you count a couple zip ties on my truck lol.. Cool one I recently saw was someone drilled a hole in their starter so they can spray de-greaser in when it starts to slip.

I repeat what I said; do a search for *mods* and you'll find plenty of mods and customizations. Also the thread I pointed out has a lot of pics of different types of trucks many that have been customized.

And I repeat that he said custom... I know RCU is very limited in the meaning of this word but go look it up in the dictionary.. He doesn't mean buying up an assortment of shiny parts and slapping them on a truck and calling it custom- its called fabrication. Read his original post. Now as for why the only replies this thread is getting is out meaningless pissing match, is because theres close to zero fabrication or anything truly custom going on in the HPI forums. I don't blame anyone, I wouldn't bother with the Savage- its got properly built parts available for it.
Got any pics of those skids man?

Yeah, the skids sound cool
Technically, ThunderbirdJunkie's truck is just full of cool parts other folks have made (Vigilante's shock towers, Hellfire shocks, and Chronic's chassis plates
Other than that, it's really got no custom fabrication or anything.
Now ThunderbirdJunkie is slightly depressed

Yea that was me with the roto start plate. It is nice to fix a slipping one way with out even taking the engine out.
Drill a small hole in the center of the roto start plate. Right where the shaft / center of the one way bearing. Then drill a small hole on the under side for a drain. Then you can spray brake clean, carb clean, or nitro cleaner with a straw in to the one way to clean it out.

Just so its clear, here is the definition of "custom" from http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/custom; it's an adjective, i.e. #12 that says "made specially for individual customer".
Otherwise, I'm not commenting further on your post.

RE: SAVAGE custom builds/mods
there is the ofna throttle mod
I can take pictures when i get home and list the parts needed.
it eliminates the crappy throttle/brake set-up in the savage for a more efficient one.

Thank you.
Thank you.
Anyways, thats pretty creative man, definitely would come in handy driving in mud/snow/ and sand, the fit and finish is great tho.
