Call HPI for warranty and buy a spare one for the time being.

Take out the front differential then take out the pinion gear and then you can put the new bone in.

DEFINITELY contact HPI.

That's messed up! Have not seen that happen before!

PSF-awesome idea about how to replace that...ThunderbirdJunkie has been pulling the left side chassis plate and transmission ever since forever to replace dogbones...feel kinda dumb for it now [&:] Must be an old habit from wrenching on savage 25s and 21s

when building my X ss i forgot the front center bone, then forgot to grease it, pulled off the whole front end you gotta loosen up the screws on the RX box and then i pulled the chassie plates apart

and that is for sure a defect

get the chrome (shiny) bones they are supose to be heavy duity. Now would aslo be a good time to shim the differentails, before you break them.

You don't want those. They're stronger to a point, but they're also more brittle so they snap rather than bend.

I had the same thing happen to our new 4.6 RTR I purchased for my son. Happened on first tank after breakin on Christmas day. The set screw for the rear hub backed out and tore up the trans housing, brakes, spur and the air filter.. Called the 800 # every day never got a response, I called the shop where i purchased it, they gave me another number..called and HPI took care of all the damaged parts..

but in the mean time had to breakdown and get a tmaxx all that was in stock locally...

I hope I get the parts to put the savage back together soon..
