Yeah, it is a lot more responsive. If people are wondering, noit will not fall out. It is pretty tight in there, and the lid holds it in. You actually have to take the lid off the box to get the pack out. I may just try to bend up a metalbox in the future</p>

IMHO,,,,Hump Packs are the Way to Go.....

I install them in all my cars.....

More Power to the Servos,,,,and saves a lot of $$ over the long run, (no more Duracells)

Also,,,,you eliminate the Runaways, caused by a battery popping out of the battery holder....

nice....I would actually get a switch with a charge adapter and leave it in the box...noway that thing would fit in my box...lol

I Think that battery is actually meant for the 1/5 cars......
At least,,,HPI sells a similar Battery for the Baja.....

it is meant for 1/5'ths.  Thats an rxt box randy, it would fit in yours too

not with my spektrum reciever it wont.....my box is pretty tight the way it is..lol

I'm thinkin my spektrum reciever is bigger then the sport....Iffin I remember right I had no option but to lay mine down (was to big to put it on its side)....its a cool mod though...

Firebird, I have a Spektrum DX 2.0 unit. I installed the hump pack with the three cells up and two calles on the bottom. This leaves a space on each side of the hump pack. One side is clearence for the servo pulgs entering the reciever box. The space on the other end is for theswitch wires, andis aperfect space for the part of the reciever where the servos and power supply plugs in. The way the reciever sits in place is perfect. It does not move around, and the sync button is right on top and easily accessible. It will fit nicely. I have tested this setup out, ran it through snow a few days ago.Ibroke it out today and ran it again, no problems. I ran the car hard today, as you will see on the CRASHES, BASHING thread. I could not wait for the bumper supports to arrive anymore. Well now I need more stuff. (lol) Damn cement curbs and ice!

yeahI did some tinkerin and see what ya ment...my receiver will fit that way ..only thing I would do differently is connect the lids....after cutting that cross brace I think there would be a lil gap....but way kewl mod

Actually the hump pack is wider then the bigger lid. I had to cut out the center support, and shave the edge of the smaller lid down. I used my table saw to do the work for me. I run the car as shown with no cover over the hump pack. (reason I took off the H.P.I. sticker and replaced itfor a Himoto one!!!)The pack is too tall for the cover. Thats the only down fall. I do charge the pack with it inside the car. I will bend up a metal box if I run into any problems.

Ihave been running this hump pack, and I love it! Quick, crisp steering response and I ran all day on a single charge with out any problems. If you have the patience to redesign your radio box, do it! It was worth the effort.
