What engine do you have? If it is the 5.9 the 086 works best because the 5.9 has very poor top end it also helps in the whole RPM range [sm=shades_smile.gif]

like big walt said the 086 is a very good pipe and you'll see more power thru out the power range but it is a "top end" pipe meaning you'll see more powe/rpm at the top end of things which like bigwalt said is good cuz the k5.9 needs it, but if its a setup over the stock pipe you should see after a little re-tuning an increase in all area's but especailly in the top...

If you are running a Picco 28, you will have all the low end punch you want. Glen

I bought an 086. I also blew up a gear in my transmission. The hobby show monkeyed with my second gear or maybe my brakes were adjusted too hard. not sure the cause. sure wanted to try out my new pipe. everyone seems to be talking about the 086. Is that picco 28 a good replacement for the 5.9. Is it easier to tune than the 5.9?

I forgot to answer someones question I have the 5.9.

hey I also wanted to ask a question.

everyone says the 086 lets the 5.9 breathe better and run cooler. But it looks smaller that the stock pipe.

What's up with that, looks like more restriction of airflow.

Welcome to the crowd of people who doubted at first. The K5.9 may have size, but it does not have airflow. An LRP 28 will use more fuel per hour than a K5.9 will. They suffer from poor timing and small porting. They can be made to run, but it is not cheap. Glen

So what's the best replacement for the 5.9 in the XL chassis?

What causes the tranny gear failures? There must be alot of them since the parts are back ordered and nearly impossible to find.
