Powerbox Royal & Airpower EVSD-5U-PRO help
Hi All
I'm just put my viper together for the first time to do an air test. The gear and doors work if I use the manual button and the brakes work via the tx (plugged into ch9 of the rx). The problem i have is I can't get the retracts working with the radio, they are plugged into 'D' of the power box, which goes into ch5 on the rx. I have ch 5 working on the mix switch and looking at the monitor (DSX9) I can see the switch is working. The only thing I can put it down to is the end point adjustment in the powerbox. Does anyone know what I need to set them at for the air valve to recognise what's happening?
Cheers
Duncan

Try going direct to the Rx ( Bypass the PB) Also have you plugged both retract and brake plugs into the RX?
Regards Al
P.S You can also up the ATV's but I have never fond that to be required with the A.P Valves

LoL no indeed I wasn't being that blonde!! I'll try plugging it direct into the rx and see if that makes it work. If it does then it must just be a case of setting the endpoints up on the powerbox. Yea the brake is plugged directly into the rx and works fine
Cheers

Hi Alex
Did yours also leak out of a side hole? one hole is blanked off by a screw, but the hole next to it (on the gear side of the unit) leaks air when the unit is powered up.
Cheers

Hi, not on that occasion. I have had one vent all it's air because it thought it was in failsafe and kept trying to get the gear down hence the constant exhaust air. I set the FS to 0 and it sorted the problem. I then set it back and must have reset it as it's been fine since.

Duncan,
(and others), I had problem using the valve with my Viperjet, it seems there is some restriction in the valve for the main gears, the first couple flights I had some problems getting the legs to retract completely, I havn't tried it since (lotsa snow here [:'(]), but I changed (per recommandation from Sandor) the airlines to the main gear to 4 mm (was 3), I hope that will help a little, Sandor also suggested installing another airbottle (I have the big one, and one of the small, both from the kit for the retracts)
They work fine on the ground, but in flight I had a small problem with them
For the doors, I have used two of the small restrictors that follows the valve.
PS: I use 8 bar

just remembered it's worth putting some moisture traps in the input lines on these units as they don't like moisture at all.

Nice, I hope you take some of these with your trade stand to the JMA AGM Ali.

Given we have stock by then this product will be with us as well as all other air power products that is rapidly expanding the Jet Accessories range, there will be plenty of other goodies this year too!
Regards,
Shaun

All sorted!!
I initialised the powerbox again with the tx and bingo it's working. I think I must of missed out doing this channel before. Thanks for all your suggestions. Thanks also to Alex, you were spot on about taking the gear safe to 0 and back up again to sort the leak.

Yep, i'm trying to get it finished for when Ali gets back, so maybe a maiden next weekend
Apart from a paint touch up here and there, the only thing left is to put the servo's in the stabs, which i'm hoping to do this weekend.
