8.0 - rear mount exhaust options?
Are there any better-than-stock exhaust options for the 8.0 that still mount in the rear? I'm running dual tanks and am building a roll cage that will make the factory team optional sidepipe impossible...
Anyone run a tuned pipe off the rear, from another truck, or mfr?
If not - i'll have to be the one experimenting lol..

Only thing i can think of is the Cen GST 7.7 tuned pipe. Not sure how or if it would work.... and if it performs better then the stock pipe.
U can find the 7.7 pipe on ebay.

yeah - I like the buku pipe, but same problem - can't run a side exhaust unfortunately.
I'll give that CEN 7.7 a try... the HPI5.9 guys are having great luck with it - they aren't too expensive so if it doesn't work for me, i can always dump it on one of the 5.9'ers lol
**edit - just got one on ebay for less than 30 shipped. should be here by monday - i'll post results.

Here it is mounted up - ignore the clear hosing - i'm waiting on the silicon hose i ordered to arrive.
needed to cut the radius bend off of the stock muffler, but you could probably go to a plumbing shop and get something to work.
Fits pretty well, but rubs a bit on the shock bodies.
I'll need to figure out something for the retaining arm on the other side - stock won't work at all. Also - you'll have to have it exiting downward in front of the rear A-arm... I'll get some more detail pics soon.
I plan on running it this weekend - I'll let you know.
After researching it a bit (Thanks for the heads up, Crank!!!) the motors themselves (the AE 8.0 and the CEN 7.7) are similar in RPM range, and similar enough in displacement.. the resonant frequencies this tuned pipe is tuned to shouldn't be too far off from what the 8.0 would need, so on paper at least - it looks like a winner.
If not - it was cheap so who cares lol.
