How much ground clearance?
 Could I please have your opinion on how much ground clearance I would need if I were to convert my TL-01 into an off road rally/buggy and maybe the shocks in order to achieve that ground clearance?
I'm going to be running it on gravel, and anywhere else I can find.
ALso, what are the best tires that you recomend for off road ?
thanx

How much ground clearance?
hmm......I know there's a Stadium raider that has a tl01 chassis. But if I were to get the tires that the stadium raider has, would it make my motor hot? if it does, what do u think I should do to solve this?
Does the stadium raider have different shocks then the tl-01??

You can pickup TAMIYA or HPI rally tires.. they work pretty well.. The tamiya is better but doesn't last as long or as cheap as the HPI.
Me and my buddy play alot with our TB01 in SAND/DIRT/GRAVEL and have not had any traction problems.
i'm actually looking at the RS4 Rally by HPI to see if that would be cheaper investment since TAMIYA stuff is so damn expensive.

RE: How much ground clearance?
I also want to convert my TL-01 to an off-road vehicle.
I've checked the Stadium Raider(later, SR for short) specs and the differences between that and a standard TL-01 are - metal parts bag B & C, the drive shaft(but the replacement part is the same model for both cars-so this shouldnt be a problem.) and the wheels of course.
With regards to ride height(according to the tamiya rc guide), most of their off-road models have a ground clearance of between 25 & 33mm for normal buggys and trucks. The diameter of the SR wheels is 86mm and that of my Calsonic is 65mm, which equates to a 21mm difference, which puts the SR 11mm higher, all else being equal because I don't know if the shocks are different (but from the respective pictures, they look exactly the same).
Does someone actually know what parts(shocks, long arm suspension,...) i need to convert my onroad to a SR?

RE: How much ground clearance?
According to the spec sheet the part codes for the gears are exactly the same so i think its safe to assuming that the gear ratio is the same.
