I have this motor laying around and want to throw together a new gas rc boat. Will this motor possibly work? And if so how can i get a flex cable attached to it??

You need to buy a collet to fit onto the engine & then clamps onto the flex cable. The holes look like they might accept a standard rear engine mount, you'll have to look at the holes behind the pull start to see what hole pattern there is there to see if you can use a standard front engine mount.
Here's a picture of a collet.

Looking at the output shaft straight on (ie from the rear of the boat), you want it to rotate counter clockwise, then you can run standard props and flex cables, if it rotates clockwise you will need a special prop and shaft, they make them so it isn't an issue.
