G-38 Fuel usage?
Guys I have a G-38 Ralph converted in a ESM Corsair. I am thinking of putting a 14oz tank in because is space reasons. I only fly about 10 minutes and land and refuel. Will 14ozs be enough??

Well so much for that idea. I will just have to see if I can stuff a 16 or 18oz tank in there! You guys can sure be a buzz killer! LOL JK!!! But I would rather have the truth. It always is better in the long run. Thanks guys, back to searching!!

Yes I just saw that! They go from 16 to 20 so no 18oz. But the 16 is the same width as the 14, 2 and 11/16. and that is all that I need. Will have to try that and see how it works! May just have to keep then short for the first flights and see where I am at on reserve! I just love when things get fun. Heavier than expected plane and smaller than expected fuel tank...keeps life interesting. 5 minute flights for the first couple to see where I am at ought to tell me....

I just finished testing a G38 with a 14oz tank on my test stand, for a club member. 10 minutes would be hard to do. I got 10 minutes but I wasnt running full throttle the whole time. Sullivan makes a lot of different shaped tanks, might be something you would squeeze in.

I have 2 Sullivan 16 oz tanks but they were bought awhile back so maybe they are not available any more they are the slant front type, if you can find the tank size you want in some ones stuff box buy it and rebuild it. Some of the old gesers in your club or aera would most likly help you out

I was once told by Sullivan that they do not recommend the "flex" tanks for gasoline. has that changed? Brian

Yes, Sullivan has the ''Flex Tank'' series that will conform to a few abnormalities in the tank compartment.

RE: G-38 Fuel usage?
Maybe some of you can help me with this one. If you run your plane on the ground, at wide open throttle and say it runs for 10 min, engine working as hard as it can because the plane is not moving. Would the engine use less fuel in the air because the engine (in my mind) should be working less because the plane is free to move forward. Has anyone proved or disproved this thought.
