Default Rotate head on G-26

I need (want) to rotate the head on my G-26 180 degrees but am pretty sure there is more to it than just removing the head bolts and turning the head...any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks

Might work (maybe) but the transfer ports won't match up to the crankcase.. I don't want to go out in the shop to look....

Thanks Ralph! I did take a peek inside and it APPEARS as thought the induction ports are symmetrical...I was thinking that both the cylinder and the piston needed to rotate together. It looks like I need to remove the wrist pin to do that...am I headed in the right direction? Assuming the ports line up...

They don't line up but will work...Careful when removing the wrist pin, it gets lost easily. And be careful with the piston ring, it's pinned...The muffler and carb will be quite different too....

The intake transfer ports of the cylinder will not align with the ports in the cranckase.
Also, they will face against the flow of the mix that is induced by the rotation of the crankshaft.

I don't know if this engine has the feature, but some engines have a small built-in wrist pin offset in the piston.
That offset gives increased rod angle on the power stroke, less on compression and exhaust stroke where it has no advantage.

As Antique states, you can always try it and see.

Best luck!

Well, that mystery is solved! It won't work! Not only are the induction ports not symmetrical, the cylinder skirts that goes into the crankcase on either side are not the same. The cylinder head misses by about 1mm. Thanks for your comments!
