RC receiver not good range
Hello, I have this reciever:<a href="http://www.hobbypartz.com/fs-gtr3c-receiver.html">http://www.hobbypartz.com/fs-gtr3c-receiver.html
</a>
My DF 02 recently got ran over by some jerk. And the reciever CASE got smashed. Every thing else was fine. Until we plugged it up to another esc. Now the range SUCKS (Like 8ft) now I found out the antenna wire was coming off. I thought that ws the problem so i re connected it to the board. The range improved a little (Mybee about 2 ft) then the car goes out of control and th e contoller disconnects. Anyone know the problem?
Also can i use a mhz antenna?
THX!

RE: RC receiver not good range
get a new receiver
http://www.hobbypartz.com/fs-gtr3c-receiver.html (too bad they are out of stock )
Sucks you DF-02 got rolled over shocked the shock towers didn't snap off.
Thing is with 2.4ghz antennas the length of the antenna is kinda critical to its range. That little bit of silver at the end of the wire is the antenna. The rest is a shielded wire to prevent interference.
I'm guessing the wire internally has a break seeing I know how sharply the antenna wire is turned up.
You can try to find it by bending the wire and see if it bends easily. When you find the point it bends easy you can try and cut it and strip a section the same length off of it as the un-shielded end on the antenna. This MIGHT work not like you have anything to lose at this point till hobbypartz is back in stock
