I'm thinking about building a drag car or two. It will have one purpose, to go straight and fast. I'm not sure how I want to the transmission. What is the best way to set the tranny up were I can get the most torque and top end speed.? I'm thinking direct drive right into the tranny but I'm not sure how to build the gears to make each wheel have equal power. Any suggestions?

Direct drive is the generally accepted fastest drag setup. You can lock the diff and get better drag performance. Look at Bolink's nitro rail and nitro funny car for ideas.
