Funny... at first I was thinking Bunch of wimps- get a job! [:'(].... then I got to thinking.... I'm 29 and have a 3 yr old and a 5 yr old... and I can't wait to start buying them their own cars and keeping them going in a "good positive hobby" (at least it's better than drugs, gangs etc...)
I figure, I'll get them their first car or two and help keep them going, but hop-ups will be up to them (unless a birthday comes along or something)[8D]

Oh, and to answer the original question... I've been out of the house since I was 17 and the only RC thing they ever got me was one of those $30 radio shack things when I was still at home... ever since then I've been buying my own and re-educating my family on the real definition of RC.

I'm 18 and live at home, but I have to go out and earn all the money to pay for my hobbies, this included. It's my real car that costs the most to run, though. £400 a year insurance then all the other bits (inc. overpriced petrol at 80p a litre) that add to that. Thank god that rc cars don't use that much fuel.

im 15 and work for my dad so i pay for all of my rc stuff but he helps me out alot by giving me an advance on my wages

I'm 16 and have been working at the same hobby shop for 2 1/2 years (Gold Country R/C in shingle Springs California), so I have no reason not to be foot'n the bill. But my boss is cool, he doesn't charge tax and sells me stuff at cost, plus (you guys are gona hate me for this) I get free gas! 20% Trinity Monster Horsepower! My cars aren't that tricked out though because I still have a real truck to pay off and Insurance (sigh), but hey, I'm not complaining one bit!!

Shingle Springs! We have friend that live there. Up behind Bel-airs. Great RC area! we made an awsome track in thier field.

I front my bill. My parents got me started, but now with the price of cars, and parts, I cover my own expenses. I like to blame them for my addiction, and they WILL be getting the Therapy bills for the 4 year withdrawl I will have to face in a few months when I leace for the Service.

I have to pay for everything normally but sometimes my parents will buy me something if i havnt got enough money. Its one hell of an expensive hobby when you get started! But also, well worth every penny!

No kidding! I just ordered my New XXX-NT, My friends cant believe I dropped that kinda cash on a 1/10th scale truck. If it keeps me from going Crazy, its well worth the money.
