Exxon 2380 for 80's and 120's
Hi Matt
Thanks for your prompt reply
Just to clarify Exxon 2380 does produce carbon in the turbine
and I should be using Aeroshell 500 is this correct ?
Also Mobil II is this like the exxon or the Aeroshell 500 they are to the same specification standard.
thanks for your help

2380?
Have about 4 gal. of jet-A 1 mixed with 2380 oil that was used with Ram 500. OK to use this much in new engine until I can get a refill? How long does it take to carbo up? Also ok to use aeroshell in Ram 500? Prefer not to have 2 types of fuel.
Thanks, Mike

Carbon Buildup /2380
Ok...so JC wont endorse 2380 but is there any real reason why...I read the posts w/regard to carbon build up, but no official rebutal to rebuke the use of 2380. If Carbon buildup does occur please let us know how it manifests itself...how will we be able to tell. Thanks

I signed off earlier on this thread but I have to agree a definitive view from Jetcat ( no disrespects Matt).
Aero Shell 500
Mobil II
Exxon 2380
Price wise in the UK Aeroshell is twice the others, but the rule you pay for what you get does not always apply
Once again no criticism Matt you are doing a great job for us users of a class turbine the Jetcat
Thanks Ian R

Hi guys
I am not sure how to clarify this, but I will try:
Regarding the warranty.....to quote our esteemed leaded:
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Any synthetic turbine oil is fine for the JetCat USA's warranty.
For future purchases of oil, the oil-store.com sells Aeroshell 500 for $5.90 a quart + shipping.

Regarding the best oil to use in your JetCAT:
1.) The factory strongly recommends Aeroshell 500
2.) We do not have any specs on when the carbon will build up, or any other specifics like that.
We are just trying to pass on the best information we have, understanding that many who have many thousands of dollars invested would like to use the best oil for their product.
Hope this helps
