RE: indoor nitro raceing??
There use to be a couple of indoor nitro tracks here and one of the owners of one of the LHS still talks about how bad it smelled, how difficult it was to keep clean, and how difficult it was to breath. Lack of proper ventilation probably being the key factor. There was a large indoor track in the DF/W area with webcams, but I can't recall the name of the place off hand and don't have a link.
Edit: You can always try a search at google.com

You could just think about it and say *cough* many tracks here in vegas for nitro are outside because you'll just get so ........ (cant think) by smelling those fumes. and the Cost of exaust fans here would be crazy...well not really KH15 is right, those fans are what it needs...and alot of Lysol ,lol.

RE: indoor nitro raceing??
We run an indoor race every feb and between the fans already in the facility (ag center) and a couple of huge floor fans to pull the smoke/dust away from the track, it works out fine. In the past we have used only half the available space for track with the rest for pit trailers. Since that means the track is at the far end of the building from the big entry doors where we place the fans, the trailers always wind up filthy. For the next race we plan to expand the track and put the pit trailers outside at the front of the place. More track room, clean trailers, and still keep the smoke/dust out, what more could you want?

Nitro is classified as a carinogen.
(A carcinogenic material is one that is known to cause cancer.)
Dont underestimate the power of chemicals...
I would go to an indoor track ONLY if it has sufficient ventilation. But still.. I dont think its worth the risk. The vapors cause considerable inflamation to the respiratory system and can conceivably cause asthma attacks (even with normal people) among other things.
Whatever you do.. play it safe! You've been warned!

This the track we run at indoors. As long as you have some cross ventilation it isn't to bad.
