rs4 3 engine upgrade possibilities
what is the fastest, most efficient engine for the rs4 3? i just ordered my rs4 3 and want to get a faster engine in it right away. i want to also know if there is a engine limit size for touring cars. ive only had monster trucks to use nitro engines with so i never had to worry about using an engine too large. let me know. email me at [email protected]
thanks everyone

ok you might wunna give the stock engine a few gallons of running, even if it isnt that great, beat the hell outta it, then order another one, really any small block will bit, but if your wanting the absolute most power for the least money, an O.S. .18tz is the way to go, but you will need new engine mounts, non-pull start flywheel, rear exhaust system, and a starter box, if you want something that drops right in with some good power, you can get an o.s. 18cv-rx which is alot of engine for your money, you can put an engine larger than a .18 in them, but a .18 is still overkill for the most part, any larger will just spin the wheels and eat up your tires with no real advantage (unless you can get the grip, then it might accelerate a little faster)

lol, i ahve said this before, i will say ti again, there are some .12's that would spank a .21 plain and simple, its not all about power, sure you can ahve twice as much as the other guy but without grip your just wasting tires and fuel, sure you can run a .21, but its kinda pointless imo

why dont you at least try your stock engine and rate it after you judge it, if its your first nitro then get use to the stock engine, there is no saying who makes better engines, novarossi, rex, and top are all essentially the same (to my knowledge, diff name and cooling head colors) and if you want a cheap engine that gives you good power for the money, the os 18cv-rx is the way to go, i just ordered one, but i have heard others say its a good replacement engine

.12 engines sometimes are as big a .18 but have more bore and stroke. For speed, go to RCU's engine guide and look at the RPM's. For acceleration, look at HP and make sure it's at a low-mid RPM (only for accel.)

.12 engines have the same sized footprint as any small block, but if they had more bore and stroke tthan a .18 that wouldnt make them a .12 now would it
i just got my os 18cv-rx broken in and i can just say wow, its still running rich and it has a fantastic low-mid range torque, if your just bashing, get that, its only $110 for pull start version, $100 for the starter box version
but int he first post you said fastest most efficient, the most efficient is a .12, uses less gas, and they tend to rev higher, but alot of .12's require starter boxes which is a nice chunk of money, but ti you want an awesome .12, the .12tz is a potent little engine, or if you want the best (expensive) , the team orion .12 crf wasp rev made more hp and torque than the os 18tz [X(] (thanks josh for sending me that link btw)
