To adjust the slipper, you first tighten it all the way down then you back it off a little. The HPI manual suggests a 1/2 turn from tight. I think that is too loose. I loosen mine only 1/8 to 1/4 turn from tight. Been using this same spur for several gallons and that has worked for me.

I just tighten my spur all the way down and have been using the same spur for 5 gallons.
