Default Plexyglass + epoxy = ?

I want to laminate some plexyglass to plywood. What do I have to do to the plexy first? I want to put some L.E.D.s on the edge and use the fiberoptic effect.
Thanks
Shawn

Sand where the epoxy will be. It will be clear again after the epoxy sets. As a "just in case" if this is a structural kind of piece you may want to add small bolts or self-tapping screws. Epoxy doesn't stick well to some plastics. If you have access to 5200 marine adhesive you can stick plexi to anything . . . permanently.

I thought they used acrylic instead of plexiglass for fiberoptic stuff.

I haven't gone down to the glass shop to get it yet. I'll get acrylic instead. Do I prep it the same? Yes it will be semi-structural. I kinda figured on having to use some screws.
Thanks
Shawn
