Savage LE ?
Hi Guys,
I wanted to get your feedback on this one. I was out a few days ago with my Savage LE having a great day of running. Towards the end of the day I was doing high speed "fly by's" when this is what happened. I noticed the truck slowing down but the motor was running like normal. After the truck stopped I blipped the throttle and no movement, but the engine roared. Upon inspection of the diff...all looked well. I check out the connection betweenthe spur and the clutchbell and all is good there. I took it to by LHS and they inspected the same areas and notcied the backplate that is up against the spur gear that sandwiches the pad against the gear was loose. I guess if you try to spin the plate with the spur gear they should be tight enought they both move together. So they sold me another pad thinking the pad may have worn out. Have any of you experienced this and do you agree witht his fix?
Thanks,
John

RE: Savage LE ?
That maybe right. way back when I was new to nitro
I set the slipper clutch adjustment to what HPI's
instructions said. After I ported and polished the
motor I fried the pad so bad it spun inside the
spur gear and melting it and in turn ruined spur gear also.
I put in new pad and spur gear and I now run slipper
clutch adjustment nut clear tight.
