I'm sorry that you cannot believe me thats your prob. . The fact is the wind blows in west Texas- and it blows a min of 10 to 25 mph 90% of the time so you have to learn how to keep your boat on the water, and you also learn how to balance them weight in the front etc.. And as far as videos and pics I'm not sitting on a very large wallet so alot of techo. is not avaibable to me at this time, so scold me whatever call me names whatever you whish. I know my boat runs good wind no wind it don't matter so you can drop the snod commits now.....

How are you guys rigging the boats ? what distance from the transom is the motor ? or are you using what A.M.'s recommendations . and what rudder are you useing?

I just put the motor in the conquest, i put it in at 12 3/4 from the back of the transom to the center of the spark plug. i am useing the speed master rudder with 4" offset , and thats being set to the center of the right stringer.
I also mounted the strut 1/8" off to the right of the center point of the transom

Nice looking build.
Couple of tips for you.
1. Get a belt sander and sand the tips of the hull down. Both the Avenger and conquest act like kites if you dont.
2. Offset strut by 3/16" to right with a 2deg shim
3. Mount the motor as far forward as you can. (my pull start is about 1/8" from the lip of the deck.)
4. about 1oz 2part foam in the tips of the hull (adds strength and a little bit of weight.)
5. strut depth - bottom of barrel 5/8" above bottom of ride pad. (good starting place)
6. Bob Austin 6717/3 430-10 (this is actually a mono prop, but with the pitch adds some nice lift.)

I will try to post some pics as well. I just attended the Spring Nats in Atlanta. I only saw a couple of Conquest's.

LSG CAT: 2 - 1st(no cuts), 1 - 1st(1cut) and a DNF in the 3rd round due to someone taking me out at bouy 1 at the start.

Coy, Are you building this for roundy-round racing or SAW? By the way, I am starting to plan a trip to Lubbock sometime this summer. I will let you know. Maybe we can get together for some boating and a beer. See you at the Pond or the O'Bar.

So your saying to shorten the boat ? as in shorten the front of the boat > get rid of the overhang of the top of the hull onto the bottom .

So how does that reduce blow overs? Is it because it shortens the lever arm of the portion of the hull in front of the balance point?

Before I took them off, I was upside down going into the wind quite frequently. Tips sanded off, not blowing over. Removing the tips just helped prevent the intiial lift off I feel. Does not solve the problem completely. a good setup is key. This is just what i do to my boats. Try it if you like, if not, oh well. Seems to work for me.
