(Sig SE tail-touch) I Did It. Got Pics!
I've mentioned the one maneuver that I tried with my SE that resulted in a crash - its the low inverted pass which ends with the plane tapping its rudder on the ground, then speeding away.
The last time I tried it, I came in too slow. Tapped the tail but had very little airspeed with which to recover... down in a cloud of dust. Knocked the rudder loose and broke the motor mount.
I pulled it off today. With an audience, no less!
Here's a shot of the newly-scuffed rudder...
I'm never doing that again! Once is enough

I had a very trusty Super Kaos and I had gotten in the habit of making very low inverted passes with it. On one pass I got too low and knocked the vertical stab completely off. I instinctively pushed down to get the nose up after the impact. The Kaos jumped back up in the air minus it's vertical stab. I rolled wings level and right side up, engine still running and made a complete circuit of the field for a perfect landing. If I had not had a dozen witnesses I would have been called a liar.

Its weird - I don't usually attempt such goofy stunts. I like all my planes and *hate* doing repairs... especially if the repairs are because I did something dumb.
