Petrol/Oil Mixing Ratio

Default Petrol/Oil Mixing Ratio

Hi There
anybody help me with this. Am i right in saying that a 40 to 1 mix equates to 40mls oil to 1 Litre of petrol I dont want to get it wrong as this is my first venture into Petrol engines

It diesn't matter what quanity you mix just so the ratio is 40 parts to 1 part.
40 parts gas 1 part oil could be ounces, pints, quarts, or gallons
The ratio is 40 to 1

A 40 to 1 mix equates to 25 ml of oil to a litre of petrol. Like tail strike says, it is a ratio, not a percentage like in glow fuel.
