Default zenoah g-20ei with mejzlik 16x8

Have recently tried mejzlik props and they are great. has anyone tried the 16x8 mejzlik on a g-20. the k 15x8 works great but the carbon fiber has a lot to be desired. looking for info on mejzlik props in particular. would like to hear of its performance on the g-20 before i commit. a fellow flyer has one for sale.may be interested in an extra prop in that size if it shows to work well.

You should try the Vess 16 x 6, it really performs on mine.

I use APC 16 X 8 in my Model Tech Dragon Lady. I just received another Zenoah 20EI and going to install in my Model Tech P-47D and use APC 15 X 8. Later will change to MA 3 blade 14 X 8.

I get 8000 rpm (8200 rpm peak) with APC 16x8 (now total 'runtime' ~ 15 litres). This has been measured with 2 different tachometers thus the rpm value should be reasonable accurate. Gasoline is Neste Futura Green 2T fuel that is odorless gasoline with 2% ready mixed with Neste 2T Super Bio oil.

But back to topic. Any experience with Mejzlik 16x8? Especially interested in knowing performance difference with APC 16x8.

I have zenoah in 6.5 kg super chipmunk: http://www.greatplanes.com/airplanes/gpma1303.html Its power is little on limit. Loops, cuban 8, stall turns... are very well doable but you can not make too big errors due no power margin. Little extra power would help.

I run a Xoar 15x8 @ 8200 rpm and it pulls like a mule.

That is goods, I using shell Vpower gasoline and Shell VXS 2T oil. Mixture is 30:1. performance is only APC 16 X 8 RPM 7440, APC 17 X 6 RPM is 7660. maybe I need to change the ratio to 33:1 mixture. Nevertheless these 2 propeller is more than sufficient power to pull my Model Tech Dragon Lady (60Size). The only thing is these 2 prop can not do Prop Hang. Recently I bought a new Zen 20cc for my Model tech P-47D 60 size plane. Initial my first Zen 20cc is for my P-47D, after received few opionion from other flyer in Puchong, Malaysia. I changed my plane a fit to Dragon Lady for testing. Now already proved this engine is reliable after flying more than 30 litres in my first Zen 20cc engine.

Just for your information or reference. If you intend to use this Zen 20cc engine in BH T-28 Trojan (60size) please to not full throttle turning, otherwise the wing will snap (you need to reinforce the wing join in between the flag and aileron - curve portion).

wkchow88,

7440 with APC 16x8 seems relative low. I got mine 8000/8200 at 20 Celsius and 50 meters from sea level. If you have same conditions would be good idea to check mixture. But most important that you have enough power already.

Manufacturer 'promises' 8300 with APC 16x8 with starndard muffler:
-8300 with APC 16x8
-7700 with APC N17x8"

-
As mentioned earlier APC 16x8 with 8000/8200 rpm is just on limit in limit in my 6.5 kg (~14 lb) Chipmunk.
Would appreciate very much if someone could share his experience on Mejzlik 16x8.

Have heard rumours that Mejzlik would give little more power than APC but I do not trust those before hearing real comparison experience in 10-14 lb plane.
