Piston ring..which way up!!
Hi guys how do you know which way up the ring goes when installing, or does it not matter?

If there is a dot on the ring that will go up. Not the outside edge or inside.

As far as I am concerned with the Zenoah ring it shouldn't matter. I turned down my piston today and checked the ring before it went back on. Couldn't see a lick a difference between top and bottom side.

Using a NEW ring .... Does NOT matter.
Re-using ring .... polished side of ring would go down
