Guys... I need some help... I am ready to pull my hair out.
Please read through this, I will try to be as descriptive of this problem as I can.

The boat ran fine before, but now the engine is flooding.

The boat is an enforcer gator, all stock other than the exhaust which is a cooper quiet aluminum muffler with a wrap to center header.
Engine is a G230RC air cooled with I believe a WT603 carb.

This boat ran flawlessly for the past 8 years or so, never a problem.

It has not seem much use in the past 3-4 year (got into helis) but when I used it occasionally it ran fine. The engine is not worn it did not see that much usage.

Ran it about 2 weeks ago (a good 40 minutes) all was fine.
It did not start yesterday and the plug was wet, swapped plugs still no go.
fresh gas 32:1, clean plug, have spark,
carb was set rich from the get go about 2 turn out on each, but never a problem never smoked more than a two stroke does like I said it always ran fine.
Spark plug was nice deer brown color.

Choke is not on.

It would not start, floods only. Reset the H and L carb needles to factor 1.5 and 1.25 turns.
The only way I can get it to run is if I disconnect the fuel line, pump fuel out of the lines with the primer bulb, create an airleak by removing the rubber line that feed to the water pump ( intake pulse, piped to the intake block)

It fires up, runs until fuel clears out. If I reconnect the fuel line it says running only if I open/close the airleak with my finger in one second intervals. If I close the air leak it floods and dies.

Help me obi-one-canoby.

Have you taken the carb totally apart & cleaned out the screens? Either that or I'm guessing the diaphram is about done? Replace fuel lines after eight years?
I'm lazy & just toss a new carb on.

I agree I would say clean and put new kit in carb some new hose and filter or new carb for 25.00 from Gizmo or CC

Thanks guys,
I will do just that , put a new 257 carb on it and new fuel lines as well.

however that gizmo 254 evo engine looks very tempting. I will call them Monday.

the metering diaphragm or metering needle are stuck open, that's about the only cause for what you are seeing, $3 for just that diaphragm or $10 for the full kit (K20WAT) online or $15-20 if you get it at your local mower shop. I've seen that issue several times, half the time they stick the needle open the other half closed...

Ok I swapped out the carb to a walbro257.

First, I had a hell of a time getting the boat started. ( no primer bulb and no choke).
I've tried to introduce fuel through other hoses ( intake block-water pump vacuum line). it ran for a while till the fuel lasted then died.
The fuel line from the tank seems to had fuel in in, but the carb just did not prime.
After gently forcing some fuel through the fuel line via and syringe. it finally fired up and ran fine.

Got the boat tot he lake and ran it. I must say it seems the boat was slower than usual old carb was a WT603.
May be need to adjust the needles a bit. It was set for factory setting , I checked.

Questions:
Can I install the primer bulb to the 257 from my WT603?
Use the stock 257 plastic velocity stack or junk it? the WT603 had the car type air filter box minus the foam filter. The one that comes with the G230 air cooled engine.
I've read that the waterpump vacuum pulse hose should be no longer than 4" is it s big deal? current one is about 6"?
No choke? just plug the carb with a finger on cold starts for the first pull?

correct,
when using a carb like the 257 without the primer bulb (or any other carb), put your thumb over the carb intake to choke it and pull a couple of times until it pops.
once it popped, remove your thumb and pull, it should start within the first few pulls.
Velocity stack not required.

Basic needle setting for the 257 is:
L: 2 turns
H: 1 turn
once you find the sweet spot you may have 1 7/8 on the Low, and 1 1/8 High, or 2 1/8 L, 7/8 or 3/4 H.
